Information in english:
With ELSA Bergen, you have the opportunity to plan or participate in a study trip. Each year, we organize a trip abroad that combines academic, cultural, and social activities. The study trip is open to law students in Bergen, and more information about this year’s trip can be found on ELSA Bergen’s Facebook and Instagram pages.
In the spring of 2026, the destination was Georgia, where participants gained insight into everyday life in a country where the rule of law is under significant pressure and the state is moving in an increasingly authoritarian direction. The participants visited the Norwegian Embassy and attended several lectures held by lawyers working to preserve the rule of law in the country. In addition, participants explored Georgia’s history and cultural heritage through a day trip to the Caucasus Mountains, a day trip featuring a lecture on the country’s unique history of wine production, a guided city tour with the local ELSA group, and much more.
Planning for the 2027 study trip is already underway, and the date and destination will be announced in due course.
The study trips offer a wide range of experiences. In previous years, ELSA has organized trips to destinations including the Netherlands, Cambodia, China, Madrid, Dublin, and Estonia. These trips featured exciting academic programmes, including visits to the Norwegian Embassy and the World Tourism Organization in Madrid. In Dublin, the academic programme included visits to the Supreme Court of Ireland and the Criminal Courts of Justice, while in Estonia, participants visited the Norwegian Embassy, the Supreme Court of Estonia, and Trinity Law Firm.
