Internasjonale faddere søkes / Apply to become a buddy

ELSA Oslo har ansvaret for å ta imot de internasjonale studentene som kommer på utveksling til det juridiske fakultet ved UiO, og vi søker entusiastiske og positive faddere til å gi disse studentene en fin velkomst til Oslo.

– Du får verdifull erfaring: bare en uke med ‘arbeid’ og du får skrive et punkt med internasjonal erfaring på CV’en. Du får også en offisiell attest fra fakultetet.

– Du får mange sosiale kontakter: studentene kommer til Oslo fra hele Europa og verden. Kontaktene du knytter som fadder kan vare resten av livet og hjelpe deg både privat og profesjonelt. Du blir også kjent med andre faddere – både ELSAs internasjonale og Juristforeningens faddere for norske studenter.

– Fadderuken blir supersosialt og gøy! Fadderuken er full av arrangementer og det finnes noe artig for enhver. ELSA har som mål å dele inn faddergrupper etter interessene til de ankommende studentene og fadderne. Noen vil ha mer festing, og andre vil ha mer sightseeing, og vi prøver å tilpasse oss dette. Noen av arrangementene under fadderuken er felles med Juristforeningens program, og noen aktiviteter er ELSAs egne.

– Alle kan søke! Vi rekrutterer norske studenter fra og med første studieår, samt internasjonale utvekslings- og masterstudenter.

– Det er ikke noe krav for å snakke perfekt engelsk – så lenge du klarer å kommunisere på engelsk er det nok.

– Du må være i Oslo og tilgjengelig til å være med faddergruppa di hele fadderuka (12.-17.1.2015).

Alle som er interesserte i å bli faddere med ELSA Oslo må sende en søknad til social.oslo@elsa.no innen 10. november 2014.

I søknaden kan du fortelle for eksempel hvorfor du vil bli fadder, hva ville gjøre deg til en god fadder for de internasjonale studentene og om du har liknende erfaring fra før av.

Etter deadlinen tar vi kontakt med alle søkere med resultater og vi kommer til å velge ca. 15 faddere.

Ønsker du å lede en faddergruppe sammen med en venn kan dere godt sende en søknad sammen med informasjon om begge/alle dere.

We have new international exchange students coming in to the Faculty of Law here in Oslo in January 2015 and ELSA Oslo has the privilege to welcome the students to the university. Therefore we are looking for Norwegian and international students at the faculty who could be buddies for the new students.

– This will be a wonderful social arena where you get to know the new incoming students as well as both Norwegian and other international buddies. You can make new friends and establish contacts you could benefit from both personally and professionally.

– Being a buddy demonstrates good social skills and this is a good point to be able to add to your resume. You will also get a certificate from the faculty for your work as an international ELSA buddy.

– Anyone studying at the faculty of law at the University of Oslo can apply

– You have to be present in Oslo and available to participate in the buddy week program for the duration of the buddy week January 12th to 17th 2015.

– You have to be able to communicate in English (which surely all of you can since you are studying abroad!)

Please send a short application to social.oslo@elsa.no by November 10th 2014.

In the application you could write about the following topics: why you want to be a buddy, what would make you a good buddy and whether you have other similar experience from before.

After the deadline we will contact all applicants with the results and approx. 15 buddies will be selected.

If you have a friend / friends with whom you would like to lead a group together, you can make an application together with them telling about both / all of you.
